Mankato Area Public Schools' East High School recognized by Grammy Foundation

Mankato Area Public Schools' East High School music program has been recognized by the Grammy Foundation, Santa Monica, Calif., with a Grammy Signature Schools Community Award and granted $2,000 financial support for music excellence. More than 350 students participate in music at the high school.

According to the National Association for Music Education, there are many benefits to participating in music, such as development of language and reasoning, mastery of memorization, increased coordination and sense of achievement.
