Mankato Area Adaptive Ski program receives grant from Mankato Clinic Foundation
The Mankato Area Adaptive Ski program received a $265 grant from the Mankato Clinic Foundation to purchase guide bibs. Guide bibs enhance safety through increased awareness and visibility of skiers and volunteers. The Mankato Area Adaptive Ski program is a collaboration between Mankato Area Public Schools' ACCESS program and SMILES Center for Independent Living.

"It is the support of community organizations like the Mankato Clinic Foundation that makes this program possible and allows us to purchase the necessary equipment to best serve our skiers," says Lake Johnson, recreation specialist.

The Mankato Area Adaptive Ski program is a group of local skiers, volunteers and donors who work together to offer adults and youth with physical disabilities the opportunity to learn to ski. The program promotes personal growth and life enrichment through teaching alpine and water skiing. With the dedication and passion of our volunteers, we are able to serve a variety of individuals throughout southern Minnesota, providing them with the opportunity to experience the thrill of the sport.
