Two VEX robotics teams earn World Championship invitations

Two Mankato Area Public Schools VEX robotics teams from Prairie Winds Middle School and East High School have qualified and earned World Championship invitations. Teams include:
  • The Pink Team: Coach Michael Shores, Megan Geraets, Grace Morgan, Kendyl Stueber, Lauren Reuter, Sophia Murphy and Sydney Prybylla
  • Betaversion 1.0: Leif Stout, Amber Marrs, Dylan Moore, Kenny Yu, Alex Hyun, Jayden Siegle, Michael Nguyen, Ryan Swanson and Cole Himmer
The Pink Team from Prairie Winds Middle School, along with two other school teams, won the middle school state tournament. They were also awarded the design award for the middle school division. The design award recognizes the team that demonstrates an organized and professional approach to the design process, project management, time management and team organization.

East High School’s team, Betaversion 1.0, placed first at the Mankato Vex Robotics Competition and earned the build award. They were skills challenge champions and tournament runners up at the Austin Public Schools/Riverland College Competition, qualifying them for Worlds with their skills competition score.
